Description

LINKS is a division of St. John Ambulance based within Universities. Our primary aim is to provide First Aid training for students and get you involved in providing first aid in the community and on campus. Don't worry if you have never done first aid before, we will teach you everything you need to know. If you already have a first aid qualification, you can come along too, as you can learn new skills and put existing ones into practice. As well as learning first aid you can also get involved with lots of other exciting youth activities, which will help to boost your CV and broaden your own personal skills. You can run for a position on the societies committee and take nationally recognized first aid qualifications such as First Aid at Work. While been on duty you can also get free access to shows and events.

Where They Train / Meet

We currently meet on a weekly basis, on a Thursday at 7:30 until 9pm in room 5F1. However, we will possibly be looking into changing the day for meetings if it is in the interest of the majority of members. We regularly hold training sessions in these meetings to practice our skills.

We go to escape bar after our meetings for drinks and socializing every week, and we will also be holding varied socials on the last week of each month, varying from 999 parties, to bowling, to pub golf!

Our main outings are duties (providing first aid at public events), visits to other LINK units in the county, and an annual trip for selected members to our prestigious LINKS conference!
