UWE's Ice Hockey Club was formed in October 2008. Amazingly, after only one month in existence, the team beat the established Oxford University Team. The club has players from all levels of experience: from the exceptionally talented to several new players with no previous experience at all!
We offer people of all abilities the chance to play ice hockey. If you’re a beginner we have qualified coaches on hand to teach you the basics, and get you up to scratch so that you can eventually play in a few matches. If you’ve played before then you can get involved in our team which plays in Division 2 Southern Conference of the university league.
Where they train/meet
Our team trains every Wednesday night from 10:45-11:45 at Bristol Ice Rink.
Matches take place at various times, with games most weekends.
Socials take place every fortnight on various days at differing locations.
Members will be provided with a stick, gloves and helmet but will need to purchase or hire skates. Skate hire is available at the Ice Rink. To fully participate members should be able to skate forwards and backwards with confidence.
